Typical Accountabilities:
• Establishes objectives, strategies, and plans for the company or area; oversees, monitors and evaluates business activities so that these strategies and objectives are established in alignment with the corporate vision to achieve profitable operations for the company

• Responsible for the pharmaceutical business line in the country or area. Involved in translating the vision into strategic plans and responsible for translating strategic plans into operation plans. Guides their execution.

• Directly accountable for the results of the marketing company or area.

• Prepares, in conjunction with leadership team, sales, cost and profit budget and forecasts, submits to, and discusses with Regional management

• Formulates long range plans conforming to Regional/overall group growth objectives and implements plans agreed with Regional Vice President. Constantly reviews such plans in light of changing commercial and financial circumstances

• Arranges and reviews advice from GMSO of the products to be marketed and ensures that governmental regulations are met

• Directs and coordinates the operations of the marketing company, e.g. marketing and sales, support functions and if applicable, production, ensuring manpower and other resources are utilised in the most efficient manner and ensuring that the statutory requirements in the country are met, both financial regulations and employee relations

• Establishes, reviews and recommends changes for executive lines of control and areas of responsibility so that the organisation's structure maximises organisational performance

• Accountable for the sales and marketing activities across own market or regional area, managing the external reputation of the company and raising its profile in line with corporate strategy

• Performance manages senior managers and identifies development opportunities of direct reports, together with appropriate succession planning

• Ensures that tactical leadership decisions are enforced in order for the business to achieve its objectives

• Represents the organisation at public occasions (for example, conventions) and in interactions with external parties in order to present a positive image of the organisation

• May be a member of the Regional Leadership Team

• Ensure a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance is embedded in all business practices alongside full accountability for effective oversight and transparent upward reporting of compliance status in partnership with Global Compliance

• As an Area Manager, will identify, recommend and drive the short, medium and long term business strategies

• As an Area Manager, will have an influence on the GMSO strategy

• Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) - 250
• Grandfather (manager of a manager)


What is the global remit? (how many countries will the role operate in?):
• 4 or more countries at a minimum of 40% of time


Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Essential: Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject area; Mastery of Commercial area and multi-disciplinary experience (cross-functional or functional)
